Day 7

We spent our last day at the beach, playing the in water and sand, riding four wheelers, playing cards and relaxing (sleeping) in hammocks. We drove up in morning, spent around 6 hours at the beach and came back home, just in time to get ready for our final activity for this trip-game night with the Nica's.
We played Chutes & Ladders, Jenga, Yachtzee, basketball and soccer.

We have all enjoyed our trip, serving and loving everyone in Nicaragua and are all sad that we will be coming home tomorrow.

Day 6

Today, we had our last day for manual labor and were able to get a second stump out of the ground and finish with the hedging.
We participated in the lunch program with them and after had a water balloon fight with them. Some of us also played board games with them, while others played in the pool with some of the older girls we've been playing soccer with this week. (There was also a soccer game that went on after as well.)
Tonight, our team lead an Entertainment Night at El Salero. We had two games of amoeba tag and two games of sodgeball, followed by a skit, a testimony, a science experiment, a short message, and a prayer.

Day 5

Today, we explored the market!! We spent around an hour and thirty minutes roaming around the market and buying souvenirs for ourselves and for friends and family.
When we arrived back at El Salero, we spent time painting Nicaraguan girls finger nails and then played speed soccer with them.
In the evening, we were split into groups of two or three and journeyed into homes around our community and ate dinner (most of us without translators) with locals. Most of us really enjoyed this and would definitely do it again.

Day 4

Today, the team did work in the morning again-trimming hedges, taking out a tree stump, and cutting down trees with machetes. Megan, Briana, and Halle went into town and tan errands while work was finishing up and the lunch program started. Everyone was back and lunch program finished up (the sports center opened) and many stayed to play as other kids came along as well.
We played with kids again, until the team of 7 Nicaraguan girls showed up to play a game of soccer against us. (We won 1-0!)
After playing we cleaned up for dinner and drove to a roadside Nicaraguan restaurant and experienced new foods.

Day 3

Today, we all woke up at 5:00 am and climbed the water tower on the property to watch the sunrise.

We worked on pulling two tree stumps out of the ground, cutting down a tree with machetes, and clipping around the bushes.
After our time of service, we ate lunch and then played in the pool with a couple of Nicaraguan girls.
After, we played with a bunch of little kids at the sportsplex (this was a good time for everyone)!

This morning, we woke up, ate breakfast, and headed to church. We experienced a Nicaraguan style church service at Verbo and toured a little bit of Managua after.

After, our team got to zip line in Managua! Many were nervous, but everyone enjoyed it after all.

Day 1

We were excited to board our flights and take off for our mission trip this morning! We enjoyed our day and arrived safely in Managua, Nicaragua.

Many of us even saw a volcano for the first time!

Tonight, after we landed we saw some of the city, met who we are staying with, had our first Nicaraguan dinner, and talked about our upcoming week :)
